Joseph Campbell was an amazing man who helped people realize their higher potential.  Here is a trailer for a movie that was done about him.  The trailer is amazing -- I felt so ready to push through a fear simply by watching!  I can't wait to see the movie!  (It has not yet been released in DVD -- I have it saved on my Netflix list already!)

Do those you spend the most time with fan your flames or put them out?  How do your closest friends leave you feeling?  This photo is of me and my main posse.  An evening with them is like a week-long vacation - I leave feeling refreshed, rejuvenated, and ready to face any challenge with courage and grace.  Quite frankly, these two women have shown more faith in me and my abilities at times than I have over the years.  (Yep, it's true, I also have times of self-doubt.)  I know I am doing more with my life as a direct result of their love, support, and belief in me.  Seek out those who do this for you!  And, even more importantly, how can you be the fan for someone else's flames?

Keep Going

So, how are the New Year's Resolutions coming along?  Have any fallen by the way side yet?  Here's your "keep going" pep talk.  Creating change in your life takes amazing perseverance, especially when you are changing something that runs deep inside of you.  People are amazed to hear me speak of changes I have been working on for ten years.  They assume change is effortless for me and I flow through life with ease.  I struggle, too, because I still have to do the work we all need to do.  What does make it easier for me, though, is a change of perspective.  Here are four things I keep in mind as I am going through change: 

1. I know the first step can be the hardest so I make it as small as possible.  Once I get going it gets easier.
2. I know the other side of a change is brighter, lighter, and yummier.  I have gone through enough changes to know each is worth while!
3. I know I will not be perfect.  I honor the gray area in my life.  Some days I do everything I want to do, others nothing.  I don't see myself as on or off the bandwagan so there is no room for judgment.  I just keep going.  Each moment is a new moment and a time to begin again.
   
4. I know change is challenging and what I am asking of myself is alot.  I honor the work I am doing.

I have to chuckle, many of my Feel Good Moments over the years have had a "keep going" theme.  It takes perserverance to keep going when all the odds are against you.  This story will amaze you!  ALL the odds were against these boys and they just kept going. Where in your life do you need to keep going? Let this story inspire you.

2012 will be the most amazing year of your life so far!

Todays' musing and feel good moment are one and the same.  Nick has had a previous showing as a Feel Good Moment because he is so amazing.  Let his story propel you into 2012 with excitement, expectation, and a feeling that you CAN do what you want to do. 

For the past four weeks I have been guiding you on a journey to a fabulous new year.  I have challenged your beliefs around not having enough time to do what you want, not feeling like you in control of changing that which needs changing in your life.  I have reminded you to dream and had you choose one thing that you want to be sure is different one year from today.  Are you feeling now like you could make a change?  That you really can do something different in 2012?  Then, it is time to take some action!

Fifth Assignment:

• Write down what you want in the positive.  (In other words, not: "I don't want to be fat." Instead: "I want to be fit and vibrant."  Not: "I don't want to be in debt." Instead: "I want to be financially free.")
• Write it down in your calendar at the beginning of each month. (Use the calendar I created – My Inspirational Year – to have my support all year round!)
• Now, is it something that takes a multitude of action steps (such as find a new job)?  Or is it one step (such as exercise daily)?  If it takes a multitude, write down your next three action steps.  If it is one, write down that one step.
• Finally, when will you do it?  Ummm...what about now?  It doesn’t matter if your one action step takes a few moments or a day, doing one thing within the first 24 hours of setting an intention is a powerful step toward moving toward accomplishing your goals.  Now, be sure to set aside a regular time each day/week/month (whatever is necessary) to keep going!  (Here are some thoughts I wrote awhile ago on finding time to expand whatever it is you want to expand!)

What do you want to be able to say about your life on December 19, 2012
that you cannot say now?

Now that you have began to dream about your life and what you really want, what would you like to create for 2012 to get you closer to your Big Dream?  Just so we get this straight, I don't care if you think it is possible or you are capable of it, that comes later.  For now, set your intentions for the year based on what you really want for your life; let the excitement of your Big Dream get you excited about your intentions.  “We must learn to reawaken and keep ourselves awake, not by mechanical aid, but by an infinite expectation of the dawn.” (Henry David Thoreau)  Let your Big Dream be the dawn; start expecting it!

Fourth Assignment: (Although you probably figured this one out! :-) )  What do you want to be able to say about your life?  Is there something you want to have?  A way you want to be?  Think about it and write it down...Did you know:  You are 200% more likely to achieve a goal if you write it down.  You are 400% more likely to achieve a goal if you tell someone.  SO, I would like to support you in achieving this goal!  Add to the comments on the blog post what it is that you want to have by 12/19/12 between now and next Sunday.  I will randomly pick someone from the comments to receive my Goal Setting From the Heart E-Course.  Come on...you have nothing to lose and everything to gain!
