I have always been drawn to the teachings of His Holiness the Dalai Lama.  His kindness, compassion, and incredible love simply emanates from his being.  Enjoy this list that he created at the change of the millenium.  Choose one off the list and decide to fully embrace it.

 

monday morning musing: take credit for your life

You created your life.  

It is up to you to take credit for the best parts!

Two weeks ago, I encouraged you to take responsiblity for the parts of your life you didn't like and commit to making changes.  There is a corollary to this thought -- you also get to take credit for what you DO like; for what IS going well.  You have done well in many areas.  It might be your relationship with your mom, your husband or your best friend.  You might have a home you feel good in or good health or a steady paycheck.  You might be great at throwing a party or content by yourself.  Chances are you don't take the time to even look at what you do well much less pat yourself on your back about it.  In fact, there is an even greater chance that not only do you not see what you do well, but even when it is pointed out to you, you brush it off as no big deal.  Let it be a big deal.  Honor what you do well.  In fact, can you do me a favor?  I want you to tell me what you do well.  Would you leave a comment on this post and let me know what you do well?  Not sure?  Ask those closest to you.  They know and it is about time you know as well.

Do you see yourself as a hard worker?  Someone who is lazy?  An over-eater? An under-achiever?  A perfectionist?  Strong-willed?  Weak-willed?  We all have labels for ourselves -- sometimes they are buried quite deep!  All of these labels limit us, keep us defined in a way that doesn’t allow us to move forward in life.  If you need to label yourself, label yourself as compassionate, loving, flexible, and ready for what life is bringing next!

monday morning musing: maybe it is good enough

Maybe it IS "Good Enough"?

(Continuing on last week's theme of "good enough"...)  Do you feel what you are doing is just not "good enough"?  Here is what I want you to answer, has it EVER been "good enough"?  Some of us are so hard on ourselves we will NEVER feel we are doing "good enough" no matter what we do.  I have news for you, you will never be satisfied until what you are doing now is "good enough" on a deep, soul-nourishing level.  It is okay to also know you are capable of more but you also need to honor where you are now and appreciate what you are doing now.  Until then, and "more" that you do will always come from fear and frustration.
