Do YOU have a happy dance?
My son has a “happy dance” he does whenever he is excited. (Yes, of course, I videotaped if for you! It is a spectacular “feel good moment” to share!) He jumps into his happy dance when we are having pancakes, going to the store, visiting grandparents, if he gets mail (snail or email – he loves it all!), or just because the spirit moves him. I was watching him the other day, truly moved with his complete, full-body excitement over homemade pizza for dinner. It got me thinking, we all need a happy dance, don’t you think? When was the last time you got so excited over anything that you were moved to dance? And why has it been so long? What do YOU get excited over? Please share with us!
I notice that I have different "happy dances" for different events. When I've successfully mastered a new project/craft/something, I have more of a dance like Zacks but for some things, my dance is much more internal. An example,... today over lunch, I sat on the docks of a lake, listened to birds, watched the fish and soaked up every sight, sound and smell that I could. It was so lovely! Every time I ride my motorcycle, it makes me feel like "happy dancing" (obviously a bit more internal as dancing on a moving motorcycle is not advised).

I used to skip whenever I was happy or excited about something but that has not seemed socially acceptable since I was around 10 years old. However, I need to find that skipping girl again. Other adults do have "happy dances." How about "high fives" on the basketball court or the famous Tiger Woods fist pump when he makes a putt? Even if I don't actually skip, I might just take a little hop on the outside and be skipping in my mind :>)
