Make decisions based on where you are going,

Look familiar? Think you read this before?  You did...last week.  I encouraged you to use this maxim when making decision.  Now I want to encourage you to use it when you are deciding how to use your next 5 minutes, or what you are going to eat for lunch, or what you are going to say to your child as she whines her way through dinner.  Imagine being the person you know you are destined to be...what would that person do, say, think?  Be sure your decisions are based on where you are going, not where you have been.

monday morning musing: you are never too old...

I am so inspired by stories of older people who have done something bold.  Louise Hay starting a major publishing house at the age of 60.  The Delaney sisters getting into the Guiness Book of World Records as the oldest authors, writing a book after 100.  One sister went on to write another book at 106 years.  My mom broker her ankle at 65 skiing down a mountain at 70 years.  Inspiring, you bet!!  You might be too old to be an astronaut -- that train left the station long ago for me -- but there isn't much I can't still do if I wanted to.  What about you?  You just need to decide... Be sure to watch the Feel Good Moment that inspired this week's musing!

(Oh, and notice the quote attribution? George Eliot, the famous author, was really a woman who used a man's name so she could write more boldly in a time when women couldn't.  How's THAT for inspiring!!)

One of my favorite inspirational groups is bold older people.  I love seeing people who continue living long past when others don't, keeping their bodies and minds active and vibrant.  I LOVE this video!  I simply makes me smile.  May it do the same for you!

 

monday morning musing: maybe...a more powerful word than you know

Just try a "maybe..."

In order to move from "Nos" in your life to "Yeses", you eventually have to move through "Maybes...".  "Maybe" is a much more powerful word than you know.  With a "No" you completely block any opportunities that come your way.  A "maybe" begins to open the door.  What do you think?  Do you think you could do something fabulous today?  Take a chance?  Step out of your comfort zone?  Maybe...

feel good moment: in honor of our military

I have always been in awe of our military, my gratitude running very deep.  I was once at an airport, excitedly awaiting a flight to take me to some fabulous, exotic location to do yoga.  There was a military mom saying goodbye to her kids at the gate.  The kids were young, no older than 6 years.  This mom was going to miss out on a year of their life.  When she returned they would be older and different.  She was sacrificing a year of her children so I could have the freedom I so often take for granted.  Today's Feel Good Moment made me cry.  I couldn't help it.  It feels so good that so many people agree with me and honor the military.  Want to know more about this story?  You can read it here.
