"Laura's 500-hour teacher training was so much more than a yoga-education:
it was an amazing experience of high-level yoga study shared
with wonderful people, all of which I utilize and truly cherish each day."
~ Tara Baklund
Enjoy deepening your knowledge of yoga, refining your teaching skills, joining a supportive yogic community and having time to yourself, all within the beauty of the rainforest of Costa Rica. Immerse yourself in your practice for fourteen glorious days. You will also have two free afternoons and a day between weeks to explore the Costa Rican countryside, spend time at the beach or have an adventure on an eco-tour led by Costa Rican natives. The power of this program is the second retreat. We begin in May and then return in October. We will stay in contact between programs through semi-monthly teleclasses then continue with Musélan's vibrant yoga teacher community afterward. You will have reminders and refreshers and return the second time with even more awareness, ready to go more deeply. 500-hour training is about deepening your skills as a teacher and a practitioner, it is not to be rushed but savored and absorbed.
Each week can be taken to simply further your yogic studies.
You receive 75-hour continuing education credits per week.
"Laura's program inspired me to be true to myself, deepen my yoga practice and
define myself as a teacher. I constantly return to the inspirational notes
and tools to keep my teaching fresh, inspired and growing!" ~ Namaste, Denise

Module System: The program is taught in 4 modules (Water, Fire, Air, Earth). Each module is either one week in the Costa Rica retreat or a 3-month period in the year-long program (in Minnesota at Yoga Prairie). You can complete the modules in any of the programs and in any order. In other words, you can do one of the modules in Costa Rica and then the rest in Eden Prairie, MN ( Yoga Prairie).
WATER MODULE: Foot and Knee anatomy, getting you started (or going more deeply) into your asana home practice, meditation, and basic breathing. We will also do an intensive on assisting and adjusting your students.
FIRE MODULE: Anatomy of the hip, special populations, feminine cycles, the core, and deeper pranayama. We will also discuss ways to "Wake Up" our students with compassion and kindness.
AIR MODULE: The fascinating spine with a special focus on neck issues. We will study shoulder balance and head stand as well as Savasana.
EARTH MODULE: The anatomy portion will be the shoulder joint. We will also discuss meditation, intuitive teaching, and how to teach restorative yoga. Our self-study for the week will be focused on the chakras and ethical challenges in our teaching. We will also discuss how to stay inspired in your practice and in your teaching.
